How To Exponentially Strengthen Your Relationships

How do we deepen our relationships, whether romantically, personally, or professionally?

From my own experience, I hypothesize this to be the formula:

C = Compassion
C.C. = Clear Communication

All on top of the foundation of being committed to the relationship.

The truth is relationships can be hard.

They take constant watering (love and compassion), sunlight (intention), and a bed of fertile ground to grow in (commitment to building a foundation of trust).

Yet they (arguably) bare the greatest fruit in life.

Is there a relationship in your life you wish was a little bit stronger? If so ask yourself:

1. Is there the opportunity to 2x, 5x, or exponentially increase your compassion?

We are all perfectly imperfect human beings who learn by continuously f*cking up. Over and over, over and over, over and over, over and over, over and over, over and over, over and over, over and over, over and over (think you get the point). Own this for yourself and you can open up more to others.

2. Am I speaking my perspective, truth, needs, or desires clearly?

Understand that every one of us gets the magical ability to interpret reality in our own unique way. This means an act of love may get interpreted differently, or completely unseen altogether. We all naturally make assumptions, but the only way to discover the truth is to ask directly or speak directly.

3. How would I act differently if I practiced being completely committed to this relationship?

Usually, the small problems dissolve. You realize some initial emotions may not be worth holding onto in the long run.

Bonus Question (tieing it all in)

4. Am I leaving space for grace?

Everyone has pain, and no one wants to consciously spread that pain. Understand this and you can open up space for grace.

Yes, people will not do nice things. Even mean things. But Mother Nature can do things that seem mean from one perspective.
