Grab your blankie or whatever, comfort you as a kid, because today we're gonna explore the alchemical approach. To overcoming your greatest fears. This is your invitation. Become the alchemist of your life. You decode your heaven on earth and go through the alchemical process. The alchemist is a master of himself so that he can master life.
People thought alchemists were turning lead into gold, but they're really crystallizing their soul into form. Alchemize or golden potential. Welcome to the Golden Life. My name's David Gilbert. Welcome to The Golden Life. I'm here to help you become the alchemist of your life, somebody who can crystallize as much of your golden potential as possible.
But with that, there is one thing that is always gonna be in the way unless you jump in, and that is your greatest fear. So how do we do this? Well, before I do that, I just want to acknowledge that fear. Is always going to unconsciously like a puppet on a string control you until you choose to face it.
Now this goes through different evolutions, right? We have micro fears and macro fears and just like there's different journeys of alchemical journeys of overcoming that and learning to to integrate that, which we're gonna talk about today, but. I'm gonna use a little bit of my own story, that if you truly wanna become the alchemist of your life, of somebody who's able to transform themselves and master themselves, well, we all have our deepest seated limiting pattern.
And I know for myself as you go through different journeys. These change over time, right? You might first have one like, I'm not worthy, or I'm powerless. And then you start to feel more empowered, and then one of voiceless, and then you get on podcasts and you start sharing your voice. You're like, okay, I could do this.
And then you realize you have another one, or I'm gonna share today. As you evolve throughout the journeys, there's an opportunity for your fears to come up in a different way, and that is to be so committed to your vision of who you're becoming. I. That it will pull in just like a video game, the boss level character, and that is gonna be the dragon of your fear.
So how does this apply to me in the past year? It's something I've known and I think I've shared on another episode. I grew up in a stoic family. We didn't express a lot, uh, had my own traumas, just life circumstances. I went inward. Then my dad passed away at the age 11. I went more inward and I thought I dealt with things, but ID didn't.
So I got really good and, and especially from the things of childhood, not feeling safe as I was, as like who I am and then also repressed all these emotions. So it's like this scared little boy inside, uh, with a lot of feelings that doesn't even know how to deal with. Now, how did I look on the outside when I got to know people, especially in my twenties, I was just very stoic and expressionless and this is something I've worked a lot on, especially in the past five years, like gone head deep into.
Now, it's been such a pattern of mine that even then after five years of jumping into it, I can still get on some calls and some people's occurrence of me, or how they experienced me was there's this emotional wall put up. Especially when I get in big new groups, like I just want to go back to my comfort zone, right?
The deep preceded patterns that I know, because that's what makes me feel safe. So. Working with my own coach. I got called out on my emotional wall and I was like, I know this is something I've been working towards. I'm kind of tearing it down brick by brick, by brick. And then came the question of who do you need to become to create your vision right beyond that emotional wall?
And what came up was the joyful alchemist. Somebody who I have created in the past couple years, my version of my golden life, and sometimes I'm not expressing it like I could be, especially with new people. I just kind of go into that old default mode of feeling safe and comfortable in my own skin versus being this version of myself that I've never been for three decades, uh, of being fully expressive and, and just like really expressing the love and and appreciation I have.
For life as well as the life that I've created at this moment in time. So it was like, okay, I'm committed to becoming the joyful Alchemist, and now you get to see, uh, if I live into these commitments moving forward, if I bring some joy to your day. So hopefully you're starting to see more joy out of me in these podcasts and my own transformation.
And as I commit to that, or as you commit to a vision or who you're gonna become or getting past your living belief. Know that limitation. By the fact of you making that vow or commitment, that limitation is being pulled to you, right? Because if it's a limiting belief and you want to get over your limiting belief, how do you do that?
Well, by breaking through the limiting belief. Otherwise, it's still a limiting belief. So for myself. Alright. I'm the joyful alchemist. I look for the gold in every moment and in every person. And I'm gonna live into this and, and express myself more. And it's such a foreign area. Sometimes I don't even know what that looks like or how to do that.
Alright, cool. Can acknowledge that. But here, this is where things got interesting. Like I talked about the boss level, right? If I'm gonna be the joyful alchemist and I'm truly gonna embody that moving forward to like crystallize that, not just like integrate, but integrate to embody, to crystallize. Well, I.
We're playing a video game, my friends, we got on a new level. It's like as you evolve past one limiting pattern, right? There's a new level and that's gonna involve a new boss. And I got to know my boss. Earlier this year I was actually helping out at a Miss Soy event with my friend Lucky Desus here, uh, as well as Pedro's Ian.
And I was there being a facilitator, helping out at the event. I get this vibrating thing in my pocket, uh, a KAA phone. I pull it out. I typically don't if I'm doing something like that, I was like, know what? I'll just take a look 'cause we have this nifty new feature that actually reads your voicemail. Uh, I, I wasn't gonna take the call.
It was a phone call. Started reading the voicemail and it says. David, don't freak out. You know what you're gonna do then, right? If you hear, don't freak out. Don't freak out. Your, your, your daughters and your wife are headed to the emergency room. They've been in an accident, but don't worry, they're okay.
And of course, this was a how do you not freak out? So, of course, I just like ran off, took the phone call. And turns out they got in an accident, 9:00 AM in the morning, they're cruising around San Diego on a golf cart and a drunk driver at 9:00 AM in the morning, hit the golf cart. Now it's a whole thing in of itself.
Like a, a miracle, they're protected. And I just wanna acknowledge, like, thank you universe, because uh, in the golf cart there's one row, like in the back, there's seat belts and then there's a row where there's not. And one of the daughters was gonna sit there and then the other one said, Hey sissy, as they were living the beach, will you please sit by me?
So they were both buckled up in the back, but the accident completely totaled the golf cart. Uh, and. My wife slammed her face and cut both sides of her tongue and jacked up her whole side with her knee. And the kid, my youngest, had a black and blue ankle and that's why they sent him straight to the emergency room and the other one had a cut on her head and uh uh, afterwards found out she did get a minor concussion.
Now, don't worry. They're fine. Like I said, so much gratitude because, uh, no broken bones and, and they're healthy. And the youngest was bouncing on the trampoline the next day, freaking little kids. So resilient. Now this is all to say that that drive down and that day was me coming to terms with my greatest fears.
Right. Like having to see and experience, like what if something actually happened to them? Um, and that idea of, of losing your, your, your, not only your children, but your children and your partner, like your whole family, uh, in one experience and walking away from that. Like I could, I, I had so much more gratitude, right?
We were, we were cruising through life, and life was really good and, and I had so much more gratitude just for the fact that they all had all limbs. They didn't even lose a finger. They were inches away. They one, both of them inches away from losing limbs or worse. So just the fact that they had all their body parts, but more importantly, everybody was okay.
And just all those moments with those loved ones when you don't know. What can happen next? Right? You, you. The truth is you never know when the last moment is, and I have a, a helmet of a samurai on my desk. Remind me of the code that this could be your last moment, right? This is something that if you can embody that, like imagine the power and being able to view every moment with a friend or loved one as your last moment and how you're just gonna let so much crap just dissipate into the ether and just let it go.
First getting stuck in your whatever. So after that experience was like, okay, alright. Wow, I'm, I, I feel more joy for the simplest things in life. Like I can, I can be more committed to joy than ever. And I thought that was like a good, like a good. I dunno, I guess boss level I didn't really think about in those terms.
Only hindsight did I really see this. I was like, okay, I'm still committed to, to showing up in Joy. And there was this other opportunity of going into a community and we, we did this training and going through exercises I. And it was my commitment. Again, I verbalized it. It's, I'm committed to creating joy and, and to expressing my joy.
And I, I talked about this in the previous episode, but I got a lot of feedback on how I was showing up, how I was not showing up, but there was an exercise there. I took it to another level. I thought I, I thought I went against the boss level in the video game. I'm sure if you played a lot of video games, you know this feeling, you're like, yeah, I did it.
Like it took me so long just to defeat that one thing. Not to say defeating fears in this case, uh, but just like overcome that boss level and then you realize, no, that wasn't even the boss. Uh, you still got more to do. Uh, that was absolutely my case where we did this exercise where you pass away. As you pass away, I don't wanna give away all the details as you pass away.
You have to see your loved ones get the phone call that you didn't make it because you didn't fight fully for your life in this exercise. And that was a whole nother holy poop moment of realizing because I lost my father at a young age. That for me to see the. Moment on my kid's face, uh, if they got the phone call that I'm not alive.
And on top of that was because of reason that I didn't fight for my life 120% 'cause of how I was showing up in different ways that that was ultimately my greatest fear. So just know when you make a bold commitment to powerfully transform yourself, you're calling in the opposite polarity. This is transmutation, right?
You're calling in the opposite polarity to not overcome that, but to become one with that. What do I mean by that? If you've read the alchemical journey, you know there's a phase where the hero confronts the dragon. And the dragon is the fear within you that like a shadow, if you're in the dark and full of shadow, you're gonna feel lost and you're not gonna have to deal with it.
But when you bring the light of your awareness onto that fear, you realize the shadow is just cast from yourself on the floor, and then it's not as scary, right? So this dragon of fear. In my case, to be fully committed to joy, I need to know the depths of despair of my greatest fear, blocking that joy because that creates the polarity I.
This life. One of the, the principles of the universe is polarity, the law of polarity. If you're watching this, you're, you resonate with becoming the alchemist. What does the alchemist do? The alchemist plays with the process of transmutation, right? From a lesser matter to its greatest potential. So. If you want to be fully committed to Joy AKA me, well you gotta know and experience and integrate the polarity of despair or fear.
So that's to say it's time to get to know your greatest fear in life. And if you don't know where to start, we'll start with death because that is how our biology is wired. So this is one of the greatest fears for us to overcome. Now, as you go through a chemical journey, as you realize, the universe is the universe and we're all interconnected in the infinite energy of the cosmos.
And through infinite intelligence and divine energy of creation, a k, a love, and we're all one in the sea of energy of the universe. Well, hopefully that can lessen your fear of death, but if you don't ever tackle the fear of death, you won't ever live fully alive because you'll be too afraid to do anything to chase your potential to go create that thing, to go try this new thing.
As you integrate that, you have that fear. You can acknowledge it. This is the process, right? First, be willing to look at it. Then acknowledge you have that fear, and then you start to. Open up to that fear. You allow it to come through you into your heart and become one with you. This is how you go from the, the, the scariest dragon of your life, AKA, your deepest fear to rising as the phoenix of love you, by allowing yourself to feel what that fear instills in you, but also that by doing that you can have a greater capacity to feel the opposite.
And then as you feel the opposite, right? That's the gold. And then you realize this is something I love to do with clients, like what is the worst case scenario if this were to play out? And you go through it and you're like, oh yeah, at the end of the day, I'd be all right. You know, if it's like taking a bold step towards a dream, oh yeah.
At the end of the day, if it didn't work out, I still live in the greatest time to be alive. Uh, I have food and shelter and family members or somebody in my universe that would probably offer me a place to sleep. Like worst case scenario, I'm still gonna be okay. So when you experience that. You can settle, you can ground, you can ground deeper, like the tree grounding its roots into the ground.
You can push 'em a little bit further into the ground, and because of that, you can absorb but more light and love. Acknowledge your fears. Open up your hearts, see what it has to teach you, and then from there, declare that you are gonna utilize that fear moving forward to help you in your commitment of who you're becoming or the transformation you're creating in the world right now by coming face to face with my deepest fears.
I can truly embody real grounded joy or my own gold, I can actually hold onto the gold because I built that capacity by knowing the polarity of the opposite. So I know we went deep today. Hopefully you still got your blankie around you. Or hopefully now you'll have it around you in the back and you're ready to be the hero actually, and jump into your fears.
Because the more you realize. At least in my own perspective, if the, it's the divine energy of creation that creates all life, AKA love. So this is the universe of love, and our creator wants to see us grow and expand in freedom, love, and abundance. Well then you realize the fears live in our heads. I.
Right, this biological being AKA being human is the thing that wants to hold onto these fears and make 'em so scary. But the more that you expand past them, the more that you ground into them and then use them as the fertilizer into your transformation, and to go to excel to the opposite polarity, the more powerful of a being that you're gonna become.
So put on that cape, jump into the process of alchemical journey to get to know your fears. Open up your heart, see what it has to teach you, and you will get the gold on the other side. And this is a testament to whatever your deepest seated pattern is that's holding you back. You can absolutely transform with enough commitment, but you gotta be willing to play the video game.
So you've been warned. Thank you for watching today's episode once again. This journey is more fun with allies. If there's somebody in your life who you would love to have you work together, I. To just explore through curiosity, what your greatest fears could be, or commit you to show up more powerfully.

Create that experience for yourself so that you can have a buddy because you're not met to do this work alone, but you do have to face your fears alone. So have a friend, have a support buddy, both put on your capes. You no longer need your comfortable little blankies from childhood because you got this.
You are the hero of your own story. And now you become the alchemist of your fears by transmuting them into your greatest gold. Moving forward. Stay golden and play harder.
