Your opportunity today is that you can use what you learn in this episode to create your best year yet, or you can do what maybe you usually do and create some lofty New Year's resolutions and just kind of go about it that way. The choice is yours, but welcome to the golden life. This is your invitation.
Become the alchemist of your life. Decode your heaven on earth. And go through the alchemical process. The alchemist is a master of himself so that he can master life. People thought alchemists were turning lead into gold, but they're really crystallizing their soul into form. Alchemize your golden potential.
Welcome to the golden life. My goal today is to help you become the alchemist of your life and create a year of fulfillment, joy, and consistent peaks. And this is being shot around the new year. So we're going to be talking about new year's resolutions. And we all are guilty of this. Maybe you're not, maybe you're the one person, uh, that is that perfect person that sets a resolution and goes and achieves it.
And you wouldn't be watching this video because everything in your life is awesome, right? Uh, but what tends to happen? Well, I'm guilty of this. You know, we go into the new year. Maybe in the past we kind of really relaxed during the holidays. We enjoyed eating during Thanksgiving, whatever we wanted, and then we're like, eh, it's almost my wife's birthday.
I'm gonna keep eating whatever, and then it's Christmas, and then it's the New Years, and you're just gonna have a couple extra drinks because you're around your family and doing all the life things. And before you know it, It's January 1st and you've been putting off that gym membership or maybe eating healthier or whatever it is And there you are and you're like, oh, it's the new year.
What do I do? Well, everybody sets a new year goal to go Uh, get healthier or find that relationship or make more money. So I'm going to do that. And then we all know where this story goes, right? From there, we start off strong, get a couple of weeks into the gym. We're loving it. We're killing it. We're feeling like our best new selves.
And then it gets towards the end of the month. Maybe we're going half them out the time, or maybe you're really pushing through and you go into the next month, you go into February and you're still killing it. And then what happens towards the end of February right into March? Well, that's when we start to lose track of those goals that we set for ourselves.
When we probably said, this was going to be the year. This was going to be the year when I really stuck to it. When I really finished the year strong. But why do we do this to ourselves? Well, there's two main reasons. And at the end of this, I'm going to share the process of how you can create the best year yet.
And you can come back to this episode and do this every year. And then you can be like five years down the road. Thank you, David. And I hope you reach out and thank me. Uh, maybe even just throw some, some donations my way if you, if you made a lot of money using this technique. So why do we have this problem?
Right. And there's two big reasons. Number one is we create these lofty goals. And the thing about lofty goals is they get us lofty results. Sometimes we'll create goals like just being so vague. I'm going to be healthier. What does that mean? Are you going to eat one extra piece of spinach each day? Are you going to take a vitamin?
Are you going to go for 10 extra minutes of a walk? What does being healthier mean to you specifically? But this is a strategy we can sometimes get caught in and I see it so much with New Year's resolutions. Like, I'm going to lose weight. Okay, that's great. Uh, how much, by when, and what does it specifically look like?
Cause if you're actually committed to getting the results, then you're going to make it crystal clear. So you just know whether you're on track or not. Uh, and you don't just leave it to chance. And this is really what being the alchemist is about, right? You are here to create transformation. And how do we create transformation through vision?
So that's going to be part of what we talk about today. Now the other part is something we don't typically think about. Um, But why does it get so hard to keep these resolutions? Well, if we're coming back to the frame of being the alchemist, then we understand we're transforming who we are. But if we don't transform who we are and step into the next evolution or a identity of ourselves, well, what's gonna happen?
We're gonna carry our baggage from the past with us. Your mind, your ego, personality structure is going to use its past to predict the future. That's just what the mind does. It's doing its job. Now, it puts us in extra, you know, sometimes that can cause depression, or if you get really anxious, or you have a lot of anxiety, well, that's why you have a lot of anxiety, because you're taking all this stuff from the past, and projecting it into the future, but the future isn't even a reality, it's just an idea in your head, and you're living in that idea in your head, and now you're in this subconscious prison, and you don't understand why you have so much anxiety.
So, same goes with going into the new year. If you're gonna evolve who you are, and evolve by setting clear goals for yourself, and clear resolutions of what you're resoluting towards becoming, or creating, Well, then you have to let go of the past, right? You have to clear out space. That's actually number two of the three step process that I'll share in a second.
But same with your identity, right? Are you the same person that you were a year ago? No. You evolved, right? Are you the same person that you were 20 years ago? No. And I can ask you this. Do you still poop your diapers? No. But you know what? That was an absolute truth. Now there's a lot of evidence you're carrying around with your old identity.
That is not an absolute truth. What do I mean by that? Right? We have our memory. I don't have the exact statistic, but we know it's maybe like less, it's definitely less than 80 percent of our memories are actually grounded in reality. The memories are really just your subconscious symbolism of what happened through the filter of your own perception within your own story.
So that's just all to say your evidence isn't really the strongest evidence, but your mind, your personality self is going to make it the strongest evidence to make whatever you think is subconsciously true to be true. So if you're carrying subconscious constraints, into the new year or you're carrying limited views or limit ideas of who you become.
You know, if working out is not part of your core identity and you're trying to go to the gym or you're going to be fighting yourself the whole part of the way because you're fighting your identity. So I know we just covered a lot, but if you really want to make this the best year yet, it starts with who you are becoming and giving yourself permission to do so.
to become that. And that involves sacrificing who you think you are now to who you are becoming. So welcome to becoming the alchemist, right? Get ready for those ego deaths because it's just going to consistently happen. If you are constantly transforming who you are, you constantly dying to who you are and your ego is going to have some bad days.
But it's okay, we'll survive, we can do this. So coming back to how do we ground this into the best year, into a golden year, a year you are truly proud of, you are thrilled for creating, stepping into this creation, and just brings you a lot of joy. Well, the three part process is first, collect your lead and gold.
Number two, create space like we talked about. Number three, then craft your thrilling vision for the year ahead. So starting with number one, what do I mean by collecting your lead and gold? That means by looking at your past, you can collect the lead and gold from the past year, right? I love taking clients through an annual review and we go much deeper.
I'm going to give you some really powerful questions today, but we go much, much deeper than this. Because this is your gold and then the lead is just waiting to be transmuted into gold. So your gold is the things that you learned from the past year as well as what are you proud of? And then what made you feel joy?
What made you feel fulfillment? What made you feel all, what made you feel thrilled by being alive just for the sake of being alive or, or overwhelmed with gratitude? Like, what were those experiences? Because that is your greatest gold. And you could step into being a creator of your life, aka an alchemist, by using that so that you can create more of those experiences that gave you that gold in the future.
Crazy, right? And then you have a future that your mind can be excited and thrilled about instead of filled with anxiety. Cause you don't know what's going to happen. Even though we don't, nobody knows what's going to happen in the future, but you can set yourself up for success. And then the lead, you know, at the end of this episode, I'll share what a simple annual review looks like, but the lead is some of the hardest things you went through as well as some of the things, consistent themes, struggles that showed up in the year.
that are still here in this moment. And this is your lead because if it has been what, you know, call a chronic complaint, if you have a chronic complaint, well, that is your opportunity to shift that in this new year. And that is going to bring you so much fulfillment, confidence as well as peace of mind.
So that leads us into number two, creating space, peace of mind, okay. Right? We want to go into the new year with a clean slate and being able to create space means doing it mentally as well as externally and we can see creating space is another way. Another way to say this is also closing loops. So kind of tying in the lead, right?
First, you've got to identify the lead in your life. And then you can start to apply action to, to transmute that lead immediately. If you've been putting off reorganizing your garage and maybe getting rid of clothes in your closet, AKA me, this is me speaking. Uh, well, it's time to finish that before the end of the year so that you can start off the new year with more space.
Because why do we want more space? More space provides the opportunity for more possibility. More possibility. This, this goes much deeper actually. If you could really understand this, it's really profound. Being able to create space provides possibility for the universe. If you're trying to project a future, especially if it's based on fear of the past, and you think there's only one way to accomplish your goal of making more money, or getting fitter, or finding that relationship, well, you're looking through a very narrow lens.
But if you can create space externally with life itself, well that gives life an opportunity to surprise you and show you more possibility, more doors that can open that you want to see if you were just focused on one thing. But this also goes internally, right? We want to create space. We want to honor the version of we were that we were a year ago.
And honor the growth that has occurred and then honor what you have going on in your life and see how can you close those loops, right? Maybe there's a hard conversation you've put off for years. Maybe there's a loved one you haven't called up for years. Well, that's taking space in your mind. It's taking space internally.
And then you're over here like, Oh, I want to call in a more love, whether that's relationships or friends. And you don't see that you're like a fish bowl with a bunch of rocks in there from old leads taken up space. That you haven't transmuted or dissolved by taking action on them for so long. And then if you do that for a decade, it's going to get full.
And then you're wondering why you can't call in that next level of love or abundance or internal freedom and peace and not feel so much anxiety while your freaking fishbowl is full. So what are you doing to clear that out? Because if you want to create a future that is expansive, that is truly abundant, that is full of that next level of love, well, you can't have things, you can't have lead.
Getting in the way, like blocking your natural life force, right? Go back to episode one, we are golden beings, and it's only the lead that is blocking the flow of your life force. So how can you create space and do this physically? Like I said, clearing up clutter in your physical space is going to help you clear up clutter in your mind.
So it goes both ways, internal, external, internal, external. I know for myself, I got some projects. I got to really clarify when I'm going to execute with deadlines for the new year. And I got shit in my garage down below that I need to clear out as well as my closet because it's overflowing right now and bought some new stuff during Black Friday, but that's besides the point.
So where do you have the opportunity to clear out space? Then number three. crafting your thrilling vision for the year ahead. And this is where I really hope you could honor yourself to give yourself an opportunity to have a clean slate, to, to shake up the snow globe or the Etsa sketch. And give yourself a blank canvas to create the new year.
Because how do we typically create the new year? I know because I take people through vision sessions all the time. It's part of my executive coaching practice. And what do we typically do? Well, we use our limited perspective as well as the evidence of the past to try to dictate what we think is possible for the future.
Now, luckily, every human, doesn't do this all the time, right? Because if that was the case, we would have never landed on the moon. There'd be nobody that would make it to the moon. Like we would probably still think the earth is flat and that the sun revolves around us because we just want to decide to try to do something impossible, like going to the end of the earth or going to the next planet.
So how can you let go of your constraints when you're stepping into creativity When you're stepping into creation, how can you create a vision and give yourself permission to be like a child again and just daydream? And from that place, uh, you know, daydreaming to, to tap into the power of your heart, And ask yourself, like, what would really thrill me?
And if you're listening to this episode, following what it means to become the alchemist, well, I'm sorry. Once again, you're in the game of rebirths. You're in the game of evolving constantly of becoming who you need to become in order to create the vision. And then sneak peek, you know, the vision is going to lead you through the alchemical journey, uh, which is going to be coming out in a book soon, but just leaving a little golden nugget breadcrumb there.
So going through the process of creating your thrilling vision, like what are those areas in life that if you created those results, would make you excited, but not only excited, you would be willing to pay the price of sacrificing who you are today in order to who you need to become in order to create that vision.
I will be talking about vision in an episode soon, uh, because like I said, This is a process I take people through as well as an annual review, uh, because this is one of the most powerful things you can do in your life is actually to have a crystal clear vision of where you're going and who you need to become in order to create that.
So this will be an ongoing theme, but I want to go into the annual review. So. If you're at home and just hanging out, the invitation here is actually just go grab a pencil and paper or your favorite journal and just do this right now. Don't waste any time. Now, if you're driving or whatever else, just take note of these questions because this is going to help you collect the gold and the lead from the past year.
So this is taking a little snippet, a little appetizer from the annual review I do with clients, but it goes like this. Question number one. What are you most proud of personally and professionally? Right? The gold. And, and these questions, if you spend time with them, you can see how deep they really are because that is clarifying for you.
What makes you proud? What makes you fulfilled? What gave you confidence? What gave you joy? What just made you feel great? Like gave you positive energy for doing that? Both personally and professionally, and you can even dissect, you'll start to see your values like you telling me what you're proud of accomplishing.
I know that where your values lie and that if you live in integrity with your values, you're going to be happy. You're going to be fulfilled. You're going to be living what feels like your best life. Number two, what was the hardest thing you had to overcome? And then to follow up with that, what did you learn from it?
This is where I like my own filter of soul gold, like what was the soul gold you get from that hardest thing? But there's so much gold in this question, right? What was that challenge, that opportunity you overcame? And what did you learn from that? How are you going to use that as gold for the rest of your life as wisdom for the rest of your life?
And you can also go deeper with this question too, right? How did you overcome it? What strategies did you use that were actually winning strategies and effective for you? Was it a certain mindset? Was it, you asked for support? Was it, just letting yourself have space. That was, uh, one of the hardest things I went through this year of allowing myself to create space when everybody else said, you know, no, it's not the right move.
My intuition said yes and I did it and that opened up whole new possibilities in my life. Number three, what and who energized you the most? And this is another getting into the mindset of an alchemist. Yeah. If the universe is energy, therefore those who can transmute it to the will are most powerful of all.
And really, what are we going for at the end of the day? We're looking for energizing and empowering energy. Because imagine, that's really underneath everything that you want, is a life full of energizing and empowering energy. So the follow up to this question is what and who is question number four, what and who drained you the most?
And this is where when I work with people, we go deeper. It's not just what and who, but it's actually what are the thoughts? What's the environment? What are the people? What are the activities or projects? And which ones are draining you? Because that is your lead. That is your lead to dissolve completely.
Just remove from your life or that is your lead to transmute into gold. That is your lead to take conscious action towards changing that. So there you go. There's some of your lead for the next year. And then here's another question to help you identify that lead. That is what in who are you still tolerating?
And that can be a hard one to look at. It could be a hard one to be honest about, right? And the, the other words I use for this is chronic complaint. What are the chronic complaints you have? The beautiful thing about chronic complaints is they are your lead. You know, like I said, you get to dissolve it or transmute it.
And another lens to view this through. Sometimes I take clients through is creating a line and it's either acceptance or creation. So are you going to accept this thing that you've been tolerating in your life? Is it something external that you don't actually have power over or is it somebody else, how they're showing up and you don't actually get control, uh, how they show up and you're just trying to project what you think is right or wrong onto them first, just accepting them and reality for how it is.
Or is it something that you haven't done all year long and you're still tolerating, even though you want it, you're still tolerating putting it off. So how can you go into the new year and turn that into gold? So there you go. I know if you put these three practices into place, if you collect your gold and your lead, if you create space internally and externally, and if you craft a thrilling vision for yourself, well, now you have everything you need to create the best year yet to create your golden year.
Why? Because you're literally transmuting your lead into gold. You're literally transmuting your vision into gold. Into reality. And there's some critical steps, which I'll leave you with a hint of one, but we'll cover this in a future episode that will lead you there. And that is commitment, right? Being able to take small daily actions towards this vision, being able to step into who you need to become in order to create this thrilling vision, and then living through commitment, because if our words create our reality, we're going And then our words are the most powerful tools we have, but that's also a topic for another day.
So be the powerful alchemist that you are. Put this into practice. Please don't just listen to this, grab your pen and journal, get that gled, get that gold, create more gold for the year ahead. And this is going to be your golden year. So thank you for watching today.
