Today, I'm going to share the real life story of how I got these two feathers. And if you're listening, I'm holding up a frame with a crow and a hawk feather inside, and you will not believe how I got these feathers. But first of all, I want to help you understand the process of transmuting the mudane into the magic and the power you have.
To awaken to more spiritual presence. We have to talk about one of the biggest obstacles to even seeing magic in everyday life. And that is the fact that modern day life can be so fast that we don't even allow ourselves to have moments to stop and see the magic that is all around us all the time. But this is causing a disconnection.
Because there is so much magic in this universe. But first, we have to create space to even be able to see it and get present. This is your invitation to become the alchemist of your life. You decode your heaven on earth and go through the alchemical process. The alchemist is a master of himself so that he can master life.
People thought alchemists were turning lead into gold, but they're really crystallizing their soul into form. Alchemize your golden potential. Welcome to the Golden Life. Have you ever felt a profound sense of magic in the ordinary moments of life? Well, first of all, welcome to the golden life. My name is David Gilbert, and today is my goal to help you discover more of the magic and the possibilities.
that we live in, in this infinite universe. And today I'm going to share the real life story of how I got these two feathers. And if you're listening, I'm holding up a frame with a crow and a hawk feather inside, and you will not believe how I got these feathers. But first of all, I want to help you understand the process of transmuting these feathers.
The mundane into the magic and the power you have to awaken to more spiritual presence. And if you stay to the end, I'll share a practice that will help you really start to build this magical muscle. But if we're going to talk about spiritual presence and the magic that comes from that, well then first we have to talk about one of the biggest obstacles to even seeing magic in everyday life.
And that is the fact that modern day life can be so fast that we don't even allow ourselves to have moments to stop and see the magic that is all around us all the time. But if you want to experience more of this, if you want to see more of it. Then presence is key, and this is to really say, we have to be aware of the constant noise and distraction and busyness we all get sucked into, including myself, of modern day life.
But this is causing a disconnection, because there is so much magic in this universe. But first, we have to create space to even be able to see it and get present. But jumping in today's story, it starts with going to flow camp back in summer 2021. And if you're like, what is flow camp? Uh, is this like an adult camp for kids where you do like flow based activities?
Yeah. Basically it is. Uh, but it was with one of my dear mentors, Jamie wheel. And one of the countless things that I took away from that camp was the idea of having your sacred space practice. And he talked about this practice of finding a place out in nature, it can be anywhere, and just going to go spend time there on a weekly or monthly basis.
So, I went back home, I live walking distance to Sunset Cliffs, world famous spot in San Diego, and I said, here is my sacred space. So once a week, I made it a practice to just go there for an hour and just sit and just be. And I'd often end up meditating at some point. And the more that I started doing this practice.
The more things got weird because I started having these experiences where something interesting would happen and I just sit there and watch it and then I'd go have an experience after that and it made sense what I was experiencing while I was sitting at the cliffs and the story I'm about to share will really highlight this because there's countless, but I'm just going to share this one story.
Today. So this specific day after doing this for a couple months and really starting to have some deep meditations and just feeling really grounded in this practice, I was walking back home and just felt grounded and centered and full of love and appreciating the beauty of the earth and all that she has to give us and the abundance that she provides for us.
And I was almost home. I was a couple blocks away from home. And I see these two hawks flying. It was like, Oh, that's really cool. Like I grew up in central California and there was always red tail hawks on the ranch. So hawks are another kind of, you know, spirit guide for myself. I've always felt a connection to them.
And I was like, Oh wow, there's actually red tail hawks flying above my house right now. Cause I looked down and I was like, Oh wow, that's like exactly above my house. Well, I keep watching these hawks, and I notice there's one just kind of flying off to the side, and he's just chilling in the wind and having a good time.
And then I look at the other hawk a little bit closer, and I see there's these crows attacking this hawk. They are just pissed off at this hawk, and this hawk is having a horrible day and just trying to get away from these crows. And I was like, whoa, that's really cool. I didn't think too much about it, and I get home and go about the day, and we end up going with my wife and doing something with her family.
Now, during that time with her family, she ended up having some confrontations, let's just say, and it wasn't the best afternoon. This was actually when she was really going through her own evolution and really learning about how to create healthy boundaries and separate herself even though she loves her family so much and create that middle sweet spot of, you know, true unconditional love yet.
Unconditional love for yourself as well and all the fun things. But that was one of the the peak moments for her that hit her really hard and she had a really bad day that night And we were just about to go to bed and so much happened that afternoon I kind of totally forgot about the Hawks and the Crows but then I sat there all of a sudden and I was like Whoa, what if that was a sign?
What if that was the universe saying, like, you know, something's about to go down. Watch out. And I was like, yeah, that seems like it could be possible. I've had these other experiences happen and like, yeah, but I've noticed for myself right before a big realization, either massive transformation or after a big realization, at least for myself, the inner critic gets really loud.
So, right after that, I even heard this like, self doubt, like, yeah, probably not. You know, the more analytical mind, the more like, scientific mind was just like, eh, probably not. That's just coincidence. So, I go to bed, and we wake up that morning with the kids ready for preschool, and we start to get them dressed, and finally get their shoes on after 20 minutes of just trying to get shoes on.
And we open up the door, and we head out the door. And what do I find on the front porch? I find a red tailed hawk feather and a black crow feather sitting there. And that was the moment I was like, okay, universe, the inner critic, the inner doubter does not win. I hear you. I see you loud and clear. And that was the moment for me that really transmuted how much magic.
is available to us in every moment, but we just have to get present to see it. So if this is something you want the opportunity to experience more of, I highly encourage creating your own sacred space practice. And what does that look like? Well, it looks like just find somewhere out in nature, and it doesn't even have to be a secluded spot that's pristine and beautiful and perfect.
Actually, you could even make it somewhere that's a little bit messy, that a lot of people go to, and maybe they leave trash behind. Cause what you can do, is you just go there for an hour, or however much time you have, if you have ten minutes, hey! You made it for 10 minutes and just go and just simply be present.
And as you do that, you give the opportunity for infinite intelligence to speak through to you because you're creating the space to get present and you're building this muscle. Now, you know, having kind of researched this and look into this more, is it true that maybe some people have more of this skill naturally?
Absolutely. But is it also true that anybody can develop this skill? Absolutely. So the more that you go out there and I highly recommend leaving the phone at home. That's what I used to do. Uh, sometimes, or just in the bag or in the car so that you don't have a phone on you. You're just fully present. And as you do this, You'll allow nature to speak through, you'll allow the universe to speak through, and then you can also bring a trash bag.
So on top of that, not only will you carve out space to get present and there's even, uh, you know, science to show this is going to improve your wellbeing because positive psychologists call this nature bathing and studies have shown just by spending time in nature, you're going to feel better. So not only that.
You can also bring a trash bag and do something as simple as picking up the pieces of trash and the space that you declare is your sacred space to show Mother Earth how much you are grateful for all that she provides for us. And it doesn't have to be overly complicated, right? Something as simple as that.
Picking up a couple pieces of trash, to say thank you. So I hope this inspires you to create your own sacred space practice. And I also have to acknowledge, you know, talking about spiritual presence and starting to open up to see the magic of the universe and, you know, having to cultivate presence to do that.
One of the other biggest obstacles to being present And that's why it's just such a, a constant reminder or a theme that comes up when it means to be the alchemist of your own life. Because as the alchemist, you get to dissolute or transmute that past pain into gold. And that's gonna, the more that you do that, that's going to allow you to step into more presence in the present moment because you don't have past experiences pulling you like a string and you fully just get to surrender, accept and be.
In the present moment. So if you have a beautiful story to share about finding magic in the mudane, I'd love to hear it in the comments below.
