๏ปฟThe one constant about the universe is that it's always in constant, it's always in constant motion. And we try to stay in our comfort zone and keep ourselves static versus allowing ourselves to work through whatever painful experience we're going through to get to the other side. So I can say now that you have the ability to get through whatever experience you're going through.
And I know sometimes it feels like you can't. But the pain is only meant to be briefly experienced. It's not meant to be held to. Your whole lifetime. This is your invitation. Become the alchemist of your life. You decode your heaven on earth and go through the alchemical process. The alchemist is a master of himself so that you can master life.
People thought alchemists were turning lead into gold, but they're really crystallizing their soul into form. Alchemize your golden potential. Welcome to the golden life. Welcome to the Golden Life, my name's David Gilbert, and I'm here to help you become the alchemist of your life so you can create as much inner and outer gold as possible.
Today I want to start off with a quote, and that is, the universe is energy, therefore those who can transmute it to their will are the most powerful of all. And in this episode, I'm going to remind you how powerful of a being that you are. And that is that you have the ability to transmute suffering into beauty.
But I want to acknowledge, first of all, if you have been following along since the first episode, I know we've been talking a lot about transformation, but more specifically, the black phase of transformation. And this involves Dark Knight of the Soul, Getting to do the shadow work, getting to get in touch with your deepest pains and fears.
And I just want to share your golden life isn't only about doing this work, but this is what's necessary if you truly want to soar into your potential. So I really hope to instill courage into your journey so that you're willing to work through the pain. And in this episode, I want to share a little bit about my own journey.
And this story starts off at one of the DME's, Divine Masculine Embodied Retreats. That I've been hosting with two dear brothers, Chris and Joseph. And we were out in Joshua tree and we were having this beautiful weekend of just coming together and sharing space as men and just holding a safe space to just be our authentic selves and let whatever comes up, come up and be okay with who we are in our totality, right?
Not trying to wear any masks. And we went through these exercises. And at one point, my dear friend, the famous, uh, wrestling coach, John Knapp, looked me in the eyes and he asked me, why are you holding onto the pain? And I looked at him, I wasn't able to answer him at the time. And we continue to go through the weekend and we later go through one of the pivotal moments of this men's weekend, which is the big love ceremony, which simply put is a practice where you basically fill your whole being up with love and then funnel it or shoot it out to people or circumstances around the world.
And After that experience, I was just so washed over by love, I went to go take a moment for myself. I went downstairs, and they had this big beanbag chair, and I decided to go lay on it. But, something got stirred up inside of me, and I wasn't really sure what it was. But all I wanted to do, if you listened to one of the previous episodes when I talked about being in the dark night of the soul and being in a dark place mentally, I wanted to revert back to that moment where I would just go down and basically in the fetal position, I would just disassociate from the pain.
And just kind of going into this painful posture, place of being, I don't really know how to describe it fully, but there was a voice in my head that said, don't do that. Don't do that. Lay, continue to just lay on your back and open up. And after I fought it for a little while, I made it through. And right after that, I had this visual Of, within the mud, the lotus sprouted.
Lotus bloomed. And right after that, I got it. I understood why I held on to so much pain. I was 33 at the time and I was holding on to so much pain from my childhood. As well as when I got older, but I finally had an answer. And if you tie in past episodes too, I've shared my story of I lost my father at the age of 11.
And one of the questions I realized that I asked me, and this is the moment I realized I'd been unconsciously kind of pursuing answers to this question, and that was, I was understanding pain. Because if you've lost someone suddenly, that meant a lot to you. You know, you ask why, and you may have gone, uh, to the same question me is why is life as painful?
And I realized in that moment that my whole life, I was more unconsciously seeking answers to that question. And that visual of the Lotus blossoming out of the mud. What gave me the answer I was seeking for 22 years, and that was the pain creates the beauty. So this is really to acknowledge a foundational truth about life, and that is that pain creates is foundational to this experience of being human.
Like it's not easy for our bodies to be a living, breathing organism. We are constantly rebirthing cells. We are constantly breathing in and out of our lungs. Our heart is always beating, making sure the blood is constantly flowing through us. We literally have to resist gravity and consume energy to keep this physical being alive.
Now, what makes it so much harder to be human is that we're aware and we have this ability to consciously create stories. So we do that. Not only is life painful, but on top of that, we'll create a story and this story creates the opportunity for suffering. And I got to see kind of my life path and the whole journey of understanding pain and learning how to transmute it.
But you can't fully transmute it if you don't appreciate it. And one of the Hermetic principles is polarity. If you were to take a soul centric view of life, or seeing the universe as energy, you would briefly transcend this polarity of pain and beauty. But we are not. see life in this polarity. It's because we experience the pain, we can experience greater levels of beauty.
And that's why I hope that you can see that pain is the path to inner greatness. Learning how to work with your pain, learning how to jump into the pain, not necessarily avoid it. And when you can do this, you give yourself the opportunity to blossom into a beautiful life because that pain no longer keeps you in the comfort zone.
It's funny because we like to forget that the universe is energy. And the one constant about the universe is that it's always in constant. It's always in constant motion. And we try to stay in our comfort zone and keep ourselves static. Verse, allowing ourselves to work through whatever painful experience we're going through.
To get to the other side so I can say now that you have the ability to get through whatever Experience you're going through and I know sometimes it feels like you can't But the pain is only meant to be briefly experienced It's not meant to be held to your whole lifetime and if you're somebody who's committed to Fulfilling your potential, committed to living the most beautiful life that you can, committed to creating a life of extraordinary fulfillment, well then it's time to understand how to work with pain and push through the pain to see the beauty on the other side.
And now because of experience like losing my father, I can appreciate life if I choose to work through it. And this is where soul gold comes in. You know, I can grab the soul gold to appreciate life. And there's moments I could tap into just the moment of sharing a beautiful experience with a friend and breaking bread and the soul gold that that is because I experienced the polarity of pain on the opposite side of the scale.
So whatever you've been through, just know you have the ability. If you've experienced tremendous amounts of pain in your life, you have the ability to experience tremendous amount of beauty. So I hope this gives you the courage and stay tuned. I'll be sharing more tools of how to work when it comes to emotional pain or mental pain or just learning how to master pain in general, because that's part of what it means to become the alchemist, to master your life and to realize your power.
in the universe is that you can consciously transmute suffering, pain, and turn that into beauty. And I'm not sure what's more powerful than that. So thank you for joining me on this episode. If this episode spoke to you, my big ass is to share it with somebody that you know has been going through some painful situation, to just give that glimpse of hope.
And instill that ounce of courage, then make sure to hit the like and subscribe or leave a review. So, so more people can find out about this. Thank you.
